Her Public Programs
A Global Itinerary
From the time she introduced the technique of Sahaja Yoga in 1970, Shri Mataji was almost constantly on the move: giving public programs, being interviewed by the media, speaking at international conferences and seminars, establishing non-governmental organizations, and spending time with her with what she considered to be her “global family”.
There was nowhere too small or too distant to warrant a visit. From the foothills of the Himalayas to the outback of Australia; from London to Istanbul to Los Angeles, Shri Mataji dedicated her time to sharing the experience of self-realization with everyone who desired it. From the early 1970’s throughout the 1980`s Shri Mataji continuously and tirelessly toured Europe, Australia and North America. The 1990´s saw her travels spread to include South America, Africa, Russia, Eastern Europe, Asia and the Pacific region. A glimpse into Shri Mataji’s itinerary in the year 1990 reveals the type of schedule she typically maintained, with more than two hundred events in twenty-six countries including Brazil, India, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, France, England, Poland, Spain, Italy, the United States, and many more. The distance she travelled in that year exceeded 135,000 kilometers, which is the equivalent of circling the globe three times.
It was an incredible amount of travel that she undertook. In just over 40 years, she taught and established Sahaja Yoga in over 100 countries – a testament to her inexhaustible energy and complete dedication to the cause of spiritual transformation everywhere.
