Becoming a master
Awakening Your Guru Principle
Shri Mataji emphasized the principle of attaining the state of self-mastery from the very first day she taught Sahaja Yoga. Unlike other yoga disciplines that require years of learning under the close guidance of a master or Guru, Sahaja Yoga meditation focuses on accessing our own innate master principle of the enlightened Spirit.
All true knowledge can only be known through our central nervous system. The sixth sense of subtle vibratory awareness, triggered by self-realization and established through proper Sahaja Yoga meditation practice, becomes a perfect tool to verify our own knowledge and the knowledge of others through this new dimension of awareness.
Once we reach this state of innate self-mastery, we clearly see things as they are and not as we had previously believed them to be. We do not blindly follow a faith or religion or doctrines or dogmas; instead, our perspective changes by our witnessing everything in the state of absolute vibratory awareness, which is beyond the duality of our limited mind.
In the beginning, such divine experiences may last only for brief moments, but as we make sincere progress in Sahaja Yoga meditation, such profound experiences become a part and parcel of our lives. We can face every facet of our lives with equanimity and master any situation that may have seemed daunting or distressing before.
This state of self-mastery not only enables us to bring harmonious balance into our daily lives, but also makes us capable of bringing others into this beautiful state of self-realization. Many Sahaja Yogis have experienced how their own lives, those of their families, friends and even the larger society in which they live have been transformed just by establishing the state of self-mastery or Guru principle within themselves.
